Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26th, 1991) is better known under her stage name Ari Lennox is an American singer and songwriter from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be associated with J. Cole's record label Dreamville Records. Dreamville Records released her debut album titled Pho in the month of October of 2016 when she began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The singer continued uploading her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. On July 21 2015 she was featured on Omen's album Elephant Eyes with the track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs in the direction of his Dreamville Team later that year because he was hoping for Rihanna to be able work alongside her on some of the songs. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna had been signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat, a track she sang together with Cozz in her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaboration album. In October of 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox then appeared as the opening act to J. Cole on his song Change in 2017 and also performed on 4 Your Eyez Only Tour. In 2018 she went on to appear on two of her songs along with label-mates EarthGang in Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first single Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. The music video was released, followed by a music video September. On November 9 the singer released two new singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. Then, in November 2013, she dropped No One and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole in The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16and later released the song in a solo version on the album she released her debut. A music video debuted 20 February 2019 in order to accompany the track. Within one period of a week, the video had more than 3 million views. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
